Housebuilder, The Hill Group, has announced the appointment of Alex Woolmore as its new Head of Planning.
This hire comes at a critical time for the The Hill Group, as the government looks to housebuilders to ramp up delivery to meet its ambitious goal of delivering 1.5 million new homes.
In her new role within Hill, Woolmore will provide advice and guidance on planning-related matters to support the promotion of the Group’s strategic land portfolio and the delivery of its existing pipeline.
The company says that she will also drive the acquisition of new sites helping the business achieve its housing delivery targets and ensuring smooth navigation through planning applications.
The Group says that Woolmore brings extensive experience as both a planning expert and a qualified lawyer. She joins Hill from Related Argent where she spent 16 years, most recently as Planning Director, playing a pivotal role in the planning strategies for landmark regeneration projects including King’s Cross and Tottenham Hale.
Andy Hill OBE, founder and Group Chief Executive of The Hill Group, said: “Alex’s extensive experience, combined with her passion for placemaking and design, makes her an exceptional addition to our team and we look forward to her contributions in shaping our strategic land ambitions.
“Her appointment comes at an exciting time for both Hill and the housing sector, as we establish ourselves to unlock new opportunities under the new National Planning Policy Framework. The Hill Group is well-positioned to capitalise on these changes, with our proven track record of creating award-winning, community-focused developments.”
Alex’s appointment coincides with Hill’s forthcoming five-year business plan for 2025-2030, which focuses on growth driven by strategic land. The business is already exploring further significant development opportunities in high-demand areas including Essex, Cambridge and Oxfordshire, aligning with the government’s vision for new towns and sustainable communities to help address the housing crisis.
